BLOG 1: Convivial Coffee for Work.Shop.Play Central Dandenong Project

On March 18th the first meeting occurred for the Action Plan project. There was a really strong turnout of 24 people who attended the convivial coffee meeting at Ginger Jones on Lonsdale Street. These people were from a cross-section of retail stores and office buildings in Dandenong. A lively conversation and coffee took place. This is a really great forum to gauge people’s thoughts, ideas and potential actions. It was a good “warm up” for the co-design workshop on 8 April.

There was a lot of potential for innovative projects to develop from such a creative and enthusiastic conversation.

The following organisations and retailers were represented on the day:

Department of Justice, Dandenong Market Traders, Dandenong Retailer Traders Association, Fishing and Camping, Melissas Coffee and Cakes, City of Greater Dandenong, Images Fashion and Homewares, Dandenong Showcase Jewelers, Dandenong Neighbourhood House, Sri Lakan Restaurant, Dandenong Pub, Department of Human Services and Sam’s Cafe.
